Mommy/Daddy and Me: “Let’s Play!” “Dance with Me!” “Sing-a-long!”

“Let’s Play!” Do you have a creative kiddo who likes telling stories? This 5-week class will introduce puppetry and speaking lines with articulation, volume, and tone! You and your kiddo will make your own sock puppet character and will perform (via video) a unique, socially distanced, puppet show for friends and family to enjoy!

“Dance with Me!” No dance experience is necessary! This 5-week class is great for wiggly kids (and parents)! Learn a choreographed duet with your little wiggle-worm! Perform in front a green screen for a video you can share with friends and family!

“Sing-a-long!” No singing or dance experience necessary! This 5-week class will get you and your little star singing and acting a duet! Perform in front of a green screen for a video you can share with friends and family!

*Because of Health and Safety Concerns, these classes are limited to six students with a parent each.

Ages: K-2nd Grade

Beginners Ballet

Come and explore the fundamentals of Ballet in 3 sections that cater to each learner’s abilities. Over the course of five weeks, students will learn basic Ballet techniques and combine it with choreography to create a complete dance piece. Instructor will contact students regarding recommended attire/footwear.

Ages: K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th

Puppets, Plays, and Performing

Explore the magic of theatre and engage your imagination! Students will create their own puppets and learn how to use them to perform excerpts from a play. Have fun and learn the power of imagination in this five week course.

Ages: 3rd-5th Grade

Acting 101, 202

Learn the fundamentals of acting in this five week course taught online. From your first lines to last bow, this class will offer instruction and insight into all of the choices that an actor makes to bring a character to life on stage.

Ages: 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, 9th-12th

Monologues, Speeches, and Public Speaking

Take command of your voice as you learn to take center stage! In this course, specific attention will be given to each student to develop their confidence and understanding of how to speak effectively in the theatre and in life.

Ages: 6th-8th Grade

Beginners Tap

In this class we will be learning basic tap technique as well as performing and tapping simultaneously to the best of our ability! We will be using many acting techniques as well to help enhance students awesome tapping ability to make them the best performers yet! Instructor will contact students regarding recommended attire/footwear.

Fundamentals of Playwriting

Stop watching plays and start writing them! Actor and Playwright Nick McCord, takes students through the process of developing their own stories and ideas into fully fleshed out plays. Come see your imagination fill the page and inspire the stage!

Ages: 6th-8th, 9th-12th, College and Above

Readers Theatre: Fairy Tale Fun!

Experience the joy of theatre through the honored tradition of Fairy Tales. Readers Theatre helps develop the skills for acting, public speaking, and critical thinking while students bring classic Fairy Tales to life and sometimes with a twist!.

Ages: 6th-8th Grade

Discovering Dialects

Ever wondered how actors perform so many dialects accurately? This class will prepare you to take on any dialect with ease! We’ll learn how to create specific voices for a character and then play with some specific dialects like British, Cockney, Irish, and Southern American. Students will also have the opportunity to work with a dialect of their choice.

Ages: 6th-12th, College and Above

Working for the Mouse!

Explore all the different roles you can perform at Disney Entertainment. Learn choreography from parades and dance parties, as well as original music and hosting skills from Disney Cruise Line shows. A former Disney Cruise Line entertainment host will help you put a little pixie dust on all your performances.

Stretch, Flex, and PT

Tired of being stuck inside? Come out and get your body moving in this fun and accessible mix of body exercises designed to limber you up. Through this course you will discover new ways to increase mobility, flexibility, and ways to reduce your risk on injury while performing. Instructor will contact students regarding recommended attire/footwear.

Movement for Performers

If you have ever wanted to take the stage but are scared to dance? This is the course for you! In Movement for Performers, students will be introduced to every aspect of movement and dance in musical theatre. Join us as we explore the basics of movement on stage in a way that every one can learn and enjoy. Instructor will contact students regarding recommended attire/footwear.

Scene Study

What makes a moment captivating for an audience? In this course, taught by Kerstin Vaughn, students will analyze and develop theatre scenes in small groups. Learn how to make a magical moment onstage and take the audience’s breath away.

Performance Techniques for the Actor

Hone your skills as a performer with tips and tricks from some of history’s greatest actors. This course will help prepare students to take their skills to the next level of professionalism. Develop the techniques to reach your full potential as a performer.

Beginner, Intermediate Tap

Enter the world of Tap Dancing with one of Lubbock’s premiere dance instructors! Courtney Ferguson takes students on a special two week course that jumps into the heart of what makes Tap one of the most captivating dance styles in the world. Vocal Methods: Musical Theatre

How do Broadway performers sing in roles 8 times a week without hurting themselves? In this five week course, Dr. Shayna Tayloe delves into the tips, tricks, and techniques that keep your voice safe and sounding like a star.

Italy to Broadway: Commedia and the World of Physical Theatre

Do you like Looney Toons? The Three Stooges? Then come learn about the original slapstick comedy, Commedia del’arte. In this fun-filled course we will explore comedic archetypes, physical comedy, and improv.

Breaking Down the Song

Ever wonder how some songs always make us cry? In “Breaking Down the Song,” instructor Casey Joiner teaches students how to pick apart musical moments to find the most effective way to perform them. Students will gain a clearer understanding of what makes a performance unforgettable.

Performing Outside the Box

Join Briana Moody as shows you the varying careers in performance and entertainment. Learn new choreography, musical, and movement-based skills while exploring different types of jobs you can audition for! You don’t have to live in NY or LA to be a performer, you live an actor’s life from every corner of the globe!
