Chris Jorns has an MM degree in choral conducting and BM in music education from Texas Tech University. Originally from Bedford, TX, Jorns began his musical career as the choir director at Hutchinson MS (Lubbock) in 2011, and he is currently the assistant director at Lubbock HS.
Jorns is no stranger to Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, as this will be his tenth production with the company. In addition to Mamma Mia!, Jorns has conducted Phantom of the Opera, Sister Act, White Christmas, and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Jorns also recently portrayed Horton the Elephant in Seussical The Musical in addition to serving as the assistant music conductor. He has appeared on stage with LMM in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, South Pacific, Titanic, and various Madrigal Dinners.
In July of 2018, Chris devised a secret plan to propose to the love of his life, Mychele, on stage before conducting a performance of How To Succeed. Chris and Mychele united on June 28th, 2019 and are now happily married
