Mitchell grew up and attended public schools in Ropesville, TX. In 1984 he graduated from Texas Tech with his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance. He has been involved in local theatre having either performed
onstage, directed productions, or served on Board of Directors for Moonlight Musicals, Garza Theatre, C.A.T.S. Theatre, and Lubbock Community Theatre since 1993. He has had the pleasure of directing shows for Moonlight Musicals including Music Man (2008), Nunsense (2014), and Annie (2019). He has had the honor of performing in Moonlight Musicals productions as Herr Zeller in The Sound of Music, John Jacob Astor in Titanic, R. H. Macy in Miracle on 34th Street, Vince Fontaine in Grease, Charlie Cowell the anvil salesman in Music Man, J. B. Biggley in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, R. F. Simpson in Singing in the Rain, and the Emerald City Guard in The Wizard of Oz. Mitchell works as the financial controller for West Industries in Lubbock, TX and always looks forward to spending time with his son, family, friends, and his theatre family.
