What People are Saying about Moonlight Musicals

George McMahan

"I’ve supported Lubbock Moonlight Musicals for over 15 years because of all the good they do in Lubbock for the arts in our great city; their program has groomed and created opportunities for SO MANY young artists to get coaching and hone their skills by performing in actual Broadway play quality productions. Founded almost 20 years ago now by former TTU Professor Gerald Dolter, who was quite the accomplished artist back in his day, the program has carried on under the leadership of Tom Laney and his wife Amy, who have elevated Moonlight to new heights of success by helping even more students achieve their dreams. They also use local adults in their productions which gives those participants an opportunity to perform right here in Lubbock, Texas so I really feel their organization is very worthy of the support of the Lubbock Community."

The Parker Family

“Since becoming involved with Moonlight Musicals we have found a way to connect as a family as we all work on music and work on dances. Our living room has become the stage and our home is filled with even more music and laughter.”

Dr. Fiona Prabhu

"I think it’s important to encourage the arts in our community. I like that moonlight academy is teaching children a different skill set that develops another part of their brains and teaches them how to express themselves in a positive way. I’ve enjoyed watching the performances since the company started and look forward to seeing each upcoming season."

The Ward Family

"It all started with a Moonlight camp! Our only child, Andi, needed something to occupy her time and to be around her peers and a friend recommended the weekly summer camps. From there her bravery and confidence blossomed. Moonlight feels like a welcoming second home for our girl and we have brought our extended family and friends along for the ride. The shows are so magical, we as parents have even gotten in on the action volunteering where we can. It just isn’t summer in Lubbock without Moonlight Musicals, and Moonlight is for everyone!"

Mike & Sue-Ann Ehmer

"We have loved live theatre, especially musical theatre, our entire married life, which is now over 50 years. In every location we’ve lived in, we sought out local theatre as well as touring Broadway shows. When we moved to Lubbock for the second time in 2012 we were thrilled to discover Moonlight Musicals. We quickly discovered the joys of sitting outside in a beautiful setting watching quality live local musical theatre while the sun sets behind us. Every performance we attend
confirms our commitment. We intend to continue our giving well into the future. It’s money well spent!"

The Henry Family

“As parents, we couldn’t be more impressed with the whole process at Moonlight Musicals. Our daughter has learned independence and responsibility beyond her years. The instruction she has received has been top-quality…pushing her and challenging her without taking away her zest.”

Jessica Stafford

“ I went to my first Moonlight Musicals show on the last night of Alice in Wonderland and witnessed something incredible. Moonlight Musicals supports local artists, educates youth, builds community spirit, and creates a magical experience for everyone.”

The Tryon Family

“Watching the shows, the
concession stand and running up and down the hill”— if you’ve been to the
amphitheater, you know what I’m talking about!! As parents, we have been impressed with the organization and professionalism at Moonlight. Thank you so much for what you do!!!"
